Sonic Projection: The Enochian Aethyrs

I call the act of transcribing rituals into musical notes as “Sonic Projection.” It’s not really like astral projection, but mnemonics should help you remember.

As a pet project Sept. 2015 ev, I decided to pour over the Internet looking for reference material for Enochian and Hebrew musical correspondences. What I found was a list of BPMs (beats per minute) corresponding to the planets, as well as exactly what I was looking for. You can find that resource here.

After finding these, I grabbed my copy of Lon Milo Duquette’s Enochian Vision Magick. I converted his preparation ceremony into musical annotation, as well as a musical version of a banishing ritual called “Sonic Banishing Ritual”.

Then I began to transpose the nineteenth key and did this 30 times replacing the proper Aethyr name in the appropriate spot. I also made audio that correlates to each set of Governors.

How does this work in practice? Ideally, you want to find a nice pair of headphones and a quiet spot. Perform your own banishing ritual or listen to the “Sonic Banishing Ritual” I have created. You’ll listen to the “Ceremony of Preparation” and then “Activating of the Holy Table” in that order. This will take some time. Then you will pick one of the Aethyrs to scry, and you will listen to its track. Once finished, you will listen to the Governors of the corresponding Aethyr.

The idea is that the sounds speak to your subconscious. Instead of vibrating words and reading from a book, you can absorb the symbolism in another way: through your ears. It might not work for everybody, but I feel like it was a resource that should be available to people wanting to work with Enochian. That said, I would definitely read a book on Enochian to understand some of the history behind it, and to construct your table, lamen, sigilum dei aemeth, and ring. These things aren’t entirely necessary, but I find certain tools help reinforce symbolism.

This isn’t music intended for easy listening, and perhaps one could argue it isn’t music at all. I am not necessarily a musician; my experience mostly lies within the realms of written work and avant-garde music. I stay ignorant of music theory intentionally, so perhaps someone more qualified could add a backing track to it. The copyright allows for anyone to edit my work.

I have made these all available for free streaming on Bandcamp. There is also an option to support me, but there is no pressure to do so. It did take a lot of time and effort to carefully place each note and form each letter of Enochian into my program, but I feel like it’s completely worth it if someone can find it useful.
