Upcoming Projects: Fall 2017

I’ve been working on a few other things besides my writing over the last month or so.

I haven’t really been feeling the whole ‘doing one article a week’ thing as I used to. My life is somewhat frenetic. I’ve been finding it difficult to sit down and write one whole article. Working a little bit and coming back to a piece isn’t really my modus operandi.

I’ve been working on a few things behind the scenes, and I feel comfortable sharing them with you.

New Album: SNMT – MELT

This is an album I produced over the last few months using only android apps it tried to encapsulate the philosophies espoused in this article that I wrote a while back. Every track is coupled to the track after it and there are 9 tracks. The first of the couple is usually just a particular genre of noise, and the one after it tends to deconstruct the atmosphere of the first into something that sounds like every pair is literally melting. It starts out sounding a lot like my traditional psychedelic electronic noise and then develops into a barren wasteland of decrepit filth.

New Album: SNMT – YTEP

This is a collection of various youtube videos I’ve uploaded over the last ten years that I felt were musical enough to be on an album. This stemmed from the realization that I had never recorded any of my experimentation with binaural beats anywhere outside youtube and I felt like maybe I should bring my scattered mess of youtube exclusive tracks to bandcamp.

New Ebook: Anti-Music Manifesto

This is just a little side project I’ve been working on off and on. It’s just a little bit of an overview of what anti-music aka anti-art means. Written in response to people always saying stuff like “it’s like music but deconstructed.” Like I did earlier. Because anti-music isn’t just about deconstructing things. I’d argue it’s not about that at all. You’ll see more on this one day.

Burlesque: Adventures in Candyland

Last month I co-produced a burlesque show called “Titties for Texas” because there was a big flood and I was wondering if anyone was going to try to do a benefit show in our area. Then I kind of volunteered myself to help. It was a moderate success and a lot of people asked us if we were going to do another one.

So we did, and this is it.

To be quite honest, I have nothing to do with the actual content of these shows. I book the show with the venue, hire the tech person, and try to make sure the whole things runs off smoothly. A little bit of promoting and stage managing. Nothing really outside my comfort zone. I don’t perform or anything like that. Maybe one day!

Events: H/M/P/H – trans* noise art collective

I’m not really sure what we’re doing so far. We had over half a dozen shows this summer, although we only ended up recording two. There’s some footage of our collective doing solo work and will be more footage after this week when I feel like editing stuff. For now we are kind of on the down low, as is typical for Seattle in the rainy season. However, if you’d like to support us you can still do so here: http://patreon.com/transnoise
